Amoxil 125 ml Syrup is an antibiotic containing amoxicillin and belongs to a group of medicines called “PENICILLIN”. Amoxil is used to treat infections caused by bacteria in different parts of the body. It is used to treat infections such as Acute bacterial sinusitis, Acute otitis media, Acute streptococcal tonsillitis and pharyngitis, Acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, Community acquired pneumonia, Acute cystitis, Asymptomatic bacteriuria in pregnancy, Acute pyelonephritis, typhoid and paratyphoid fever, Dental abscess with spreading cellulitis.

How to use

The usual dose is 40 mg-90 mg per kg of body weight given in two to three divided doses. Check with your doctor or pharmacist for the recommended dosage as this may vary for different conditions.

Precautions

Do not take Amoxil if you are allergic to amoxicillin, penicillin or any other ingredient of this medication. Inform the doctor if you have glandular fever,kidney problems or not urinating regularly before taking this medication. Common side effect is skin rash which is mildly itchy.
